Some of the issues important to me:
• Use my contacts with our congressional delegation to ensure consistent and ongoing
federal funding to support public safety, roads and transportation infrastructure,
and our social and human services
• Develop a new Permit Center in the office of Land Management with customer-friendly
service and a faster turn-around time
• Actively support local food production, storage, security, and distribution
• Take our local wine industry global – I have the contacts – we can create partnerships
to greatly increase the ability to market the fine wines of Lane County
• Support renewable and alternative energy production and through this, create family
wage jobs
• Enhance the management of our natural resources including our forests, our timber,
and our watersheds
• Address needed transportation improvements on Highway 36, the need for rail services,
and improving transportation options from the coast to Eugene-Springfield
• Address protecting our fishing industry through vigilance and support of a wise
management plan
• Ensure access to all county services to our aging population. I am now a Senior
and have a much better appreciation of the needs of seniors in west Lane County
– and we need access to services!
